Now through January 22, you can help Chicagoan stay warm this winter! There are Coat Drive donation boxes located in the Wacker & Franklin lobbies for you to donate coats, boots/shoes, scarves, hats, gloves and mittens. Donations will be distributed through the assistance of the YMCA.

Together, in the annual Toy Drive this December, we filled 14 boxes with toys that were donated to the Walter & Connie Payton Foundation for distribution to local children. Thank you for bringing smiles to children’s faces this holiday season!

OfficeLinks was delighted to hear that SkyRise Chicago raised over $800,000 for Willis Tower’s charitable partner, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC)! More than 1,800 participants from 31 states and 5 countries took part in this November 15, 2009 fundraiser.

Individual impressive stats include:

Top Male: Matthais Jahn, 26, with an overall time of 13:09

Top Female: Cindy Harris, 40, with an overall time of 15:08 (Cindy won the female division for the eighth straight year!)

What do you get when the tallest building in North America teams up with the nation’s #1 rehabilitation hospital? A fundraiser for patient care that you can be proud to be a part of! OfficeLinks invites you to join in the initiative, along with the Willis Tower, formerly the Sears Tower, and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) in SkyRise Chicago. At the November 15th fundraiser, you can run, jog or walk to the top of the Willis Tower – the tallest stair climb in North America with 2,109 steps –to support RIC programs. Stationary hand-cycles will also be provided – or you can bring your own – for those who are looking to challenge themselves by hand-cycling their way “up” 103 floors! You can also create your own fundraiser to benefit RIC to help them continue to lead the field and their patients into a very bright future. OfficeLinks would be delighted to provide a donation to the cause for any OfficeLinks client who participates. Contact Lori of the OfficeLinks Willis Tower Team for details at (312) 962-7400 and let OfficeLinks help support it’s clients and the cause!

According to Volunteering in America 2009, the most comprehensive volunteer trends and demographics report, 61.8 million Americans volunteered in 2008 and dedicated more than 8 billion hours of service…what are you going to do to beat that in 2009? For more information on the event, to donate, volunteer or support a participant, click here.
