This is encouraging news for the hospitality industry, which is beginning to emerge from its severe downturn.</p>
<p>In order to retain their loyal guests, it should come as no surprise hotels are proactively wooing road warriors with workspace improvements in their hotel rooms.  <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/07/business/07work.html?_r=1&amp;src=busln"><em>The New York Times</em></a></span> recently reported, “Hotels are focusing on several elements in helping travelers work in their rooms more effectively.”    Traveling for work is no longer an excuse for not being “connected” to the office.  Technology has enabled business travelers to get work done regardless of their location.</p>
<p>Enhancements being made by chains such as Marriott International and Kimpton Hotels reinforce the fact that a well-designed workspace – from proper furniture to lighting &#8212; does have a positive impact on the performance of business professionals.    As a Hilton Hotel executive stated, “The biggest thing that the guest wanted was to have everything ready for them to put down their laptop, plug in and be instantly productive.”</p>
<p>It is clear the expectations of the <a title="OfficeLinks" href="http://www.officelinks.com" target="_blank">21</a><sup><a title="OfficeLinks" href="http://www.officelinks.com" target="_blank">st</a></sup><a title="OfficeLinks" href="http://www.officelinks.com" target="_blank"> Century business professionals</a> are redefining workplace requirements – both in the office and on the road.
