According to an IDC report, there will be 1.2 billion mobile workers worldwide by year¹s end thanks to VOIP and advancements in unified communications as seen in OfficeLinks New York office space and Chicago executive suite locations. As the number of mobile workers increases exponentially so do their expectations for the workplace. In speaking with our clients we have learned that their demands have more to do with connectivity capabilities rather than a fixed location where they can go to work. A study by the Telework Coalition is consistent with our informal client survey. The study reveals more than half of the U.S. companies consider themselves a virtual workplace. The reliability on virtual interactions
presents a great opportunity for companies to take stock of their current and future real estate commitments. By truly understanding the specific needs of a distributed workforce, businesses will be empowered to design a flexible work environment resulting in increased productivity and employee satisfaction. While businesses can¹t control a volatile economy, they can effectively control the resources available to their mobile workers allowing them to thrive in the marketplace. The 21st Century worker deserves a 21st
Century workplace. Is your business ready?
